LOCAL INTEREST

Charmouth, beach lovers’ and fossil hunters’ paradise and part of the World Heritage Jurassic coastline, is less than two miles away.  The attractive market town of Bridport and Lyme Regis with its quaint harbour and historic Cobb wall are both within 10 minutes drive, as is the new River Cottage HQ. 

Walkers can meander from the village of Wootton across fields to the coast or inland along a network of footpaths to enjoy the tranquillity of Charmouth forest or soak up the stunning views and history of nearby Roman and Iron Age forts. 

The area boasts traditional pubs selling real ales and locally grown food, some excellent fish restaurants and charming teashops serving cream teas and home baked cakes.
